Lesson: It’s not healthy for someone to cheat on you. If you know your worth, don’t be afraid to let that individual go. Two wrongs don’t make it right. I cheated on my husband too. Don’t live to please the flesh. One person should be more than enough. Tyler Keith, I forgive you and I forgive myself!

Exodus 20:14 (KJV) “The seventh of the 10 commandments, Thou shall not commit adultery.”

Chapter 16

Vulnerable

Man Wanting Man And Woman Wanting Woman Serves No Purpose.

The NCO Club wasn’t like your average night club. In fact, it used to be the main office where the captains, lieutenants, and drill sergeants would conduct their meetings for the incoming soldiers; until they decided to move their headquarters to a larger building which was closer to the Audubon. ‘Audubon’ meant the same as a highway or freeway in the States.

On one particular night, I wasn’t ready to turn in to go home. I sat at the bar with a lot on my mind. I didn’t know who to turn to for answers. Talking to my parents was like talking to a stubborn mule. They weren’t hearing me when it came down to me talking about leaving my husband.

Sometimes it would be so slow that I had time to spark up a conversation, and that’s what I did with anybody who wanted to talk.

There was this one particular woman who came in the restaurant to order food regularly. I asked her if she’d ever been in a relationship where all the person did was cheat on her. She said yes. She started telling me about her roommate, Brad. All they did was argue.

Once I saw how cool this woman was, I began seeing a friend in her. She was like one of my homies from back home in United States.

John, my manager, was a church-going man. He talked to me about the Lord all the time, but my spirit wasn’t hearing him. I asked him, “If you go to church, why are you working in a night club?”

He said, “To talk to people like you.”

He sat with me and asked if everything was ok, and I told him, “No, but it will be.”

He said, “I see a certain someone coming up in here a lot. What’s that all about?”

I said, “This is a public restaurant, right? She said she’s having problems at home. So she comes here to get away. From what I was told, she likes the food.”

He asked me how well did I know her, and I told him she’d been coming in now almost two weeks. But she would come in, place her order, then leave. John said, “Sharon, you be careful. She’s not coming in here just for food.”

I asked him, why would he say that?

“Sharon, she is gay.”

I told him was good and smiled because I thought that meant that she was like me, always happy. From my understanding, the word ‘gay’ meant happy or joyful, not a woman being with a woman or a man being with a man.
